So i read about such effect on years ago. But then some half a year ago i stumbled on [link] this. This cool guy remade it on Flash AS2?!?!? And I wanted to check on this thing for some time. So two weeks ago I did check it... I don't know why but his implementation looks awful... Don't know why... So I found few articles in the net about this approach for some 3D engines. Read them. Understood the idea. Checked his code again... Get confused again :D And wrote my version that is 3 times smaller :D But he had one very good approach used there. I used some of his code. Thing is that I was planning to provide displacement map for this effect at once. But he used different approach. He used height map. It is very easy to paint such map in Photoshop. And then in process of creating the filter this height map is transformed in to the displacement map. So I used this approach because I find it very good. Other then that I rewrote everything for AS3 myself because I didn’t like how his variant worked. Too much classes, too much code, too hard to work with. I think Microsoft and Macromedia changed me :) Now I like comfort I programming :relaxed:
So I want to create our gaming site first page based on this cool effect :D I will post the link in my journal when I will finish it ;)

Update 1: Added sounds effects. I will add sound on/off tumorrow and also soudn spectre analysis...
