NG sound portal and why DA is dumb?You can see those works I used music from NG here [link]
But for a while I am wondering why deviantart is silent and dumb… Why (to my taste) most emotion rich way of art is not on deviantart? We have flash, we have movies, we have pictures and flash works that weight over 5Mb (near 10Mb flash works are record I suppose) so size is not a problem. I doubt you can find many compositions out there that are bigger then 10Mb. Violation of copyrights is not different from other works we see here so it is not problem either.
Realization? Well flash can stream play mp3 and making simple player takes some 10 minutes… So not problem again… I don’t see problems here…
I am not audio artist my self (though I know how to play on guitar and do some audio synthesis for sites and games sometimes) but I am 100% shore there are thousands if not millions of audio artists on DA already. It just that they can’t really submit their works in any existing category… And many other artists could use that fr many other works like animatiosns and games. This will raise DA creative output to other level in animation/film/games categories and will bring even more people here. DA is very great and friendly community and i am shore many audio artists will come here and bring thousands inf not millions of listeners with them.
So how about one of next DA steps towards Olympus would be adding one more dimension of art. Sound/Audio dimension.
What do you guys think? I would like to push this but I doubt that I can if I am alone in this sound lust

Considering violations. I see violations of music in flash works sometimes and if i know real author i usually report it as violation. DA systems of violation reports seems to be working because it is really rare and only in new works i see those violations. After few days they are usually ether removed or violated content is removed. Plus DA community seems to be more polite with such things then NG. Many people here are serious artists that take art seriously and not like too see how someone rights on their works is violated. Though those are just my thoughts but how often you see copyright violations in flash with music? I saw only two times and reported it...
Anyways I will see how people will react on this and I think I will make poster and petition latter in input will be positive and constructive

Yeh I think a catergory for music files would also help.
And the dA Vs. Newgrounds thingy: I'd say dA wins, mostly because you can submit what you want and it not get it deleted cos it crappy. The sharing community that dA has, is unique, helping one another.
It wouldn't hurt to enhance it to music aswell, I could make dA better. They could create a dA theme tune and something

Considering what will be used to play then DA made flash mp3 player. As i said it is some 10 minutes doing for simple case and week or so if you include design and few visualizations in to it...

but i agree an audio gallery is perfectly valid, and within posibilities im sure. All i would be cautious of is how we go into this, much like when the films gallery was set-up we dont want this to become a gallery where new users, ignorant users, or anoying dont care about rules users, just post all of their fave songs and half of their emo playlist.
if we have a gallery for user made audio, thats the only problem i can see it facing.(maybe do like the film gallery and bring it in slowly as an invite only thing to certain artists?)
but im all for the idea of having one.
