Well this is alternative version of Flow I was thinking to make. Well result was far from being as good but it is still kind of fun I think.
While I think of continuing adding some stuff to Flow I don't think I will develop this any further. Tough may be adding PNG output and some tools will be possible if someone is interested.

Controls:
As with Flow click and drag to make some flow and double click to reset it.

Also there are 4 control boxes in bottom right. From left to right
Brush size - not much to explain here :)

Color insertion - well I recommend playing with this value in range of 0-0.1. Produces some interesting result and different settings.
Basically filter in pure form leads to colors merging and becoming darker with time resulting on complete black devouring everything. So made it so that % of original color map is added at each frame.

Last two - are connected to how I convert double precision speed map to DisplacementMap for the filter + how then filter scales it. Basically both effect speed multipliers tough with some difference. Don't recommend changing them.

Wow, amazing... It's so much hypnotizing! Really, I've already passed couples of hours playing with what you do... What's was fun with this one to, is that it is tileable ^^

I would like to ask you something. Wich application do you find for your work? (in adition to the entertaining part, end the pleasure of the eyes)

In fact, I was wondering too what is your job, but thought it would be too personal to ask... So, I think the two answers would be interesting^^

For life I was Flash programmer. Sites, banners, some web application front-ends. And for some time flash games programmer. Not for long tough.
As for such works. Well curiosity and fun. Testing ideas for various reasons and sometimes using them for practical purposes. This one for example with some modification can turn in to interactive fire like here [link] and here [link] Or a cool physical or graphical effect for some types of games. For example some people here mention pretty cool little game called Plasma Pong [link]

So that's how it is :)

As far as I know, the only way of saving files from a swf to the hard drive requires a window to pop up with a file browser, for the sake of safety I assume. But is there a way to bypass this? Or, better yet, am I mistaken?
